A 3-year letterman offensive guard, John earned an MBA from the University of Southern California after his time at Tech.
John has made his mark in industrial commercial real estate.
He served as Executive Vice President at CBRE Inc. for 25 years where he was consistently a top global, national, and local producer.
He currently serves as CEO of Capital Development Partners and resides in Savannah.

KEN WHISENHUNT
Ken Whisenhunt was a walk-on from Richmond Academy in Augusta, GA. He achieved the honor of being the rare 5-year letterman in the modern era (shared by only 2 others). Ken graduated in 1985 with a degree in Civil Engineering. He played 9 seasons in the NFL and currently is in his 28th year of coaching at the NFL and college level. In just his 2nd season as an NFL head coach, he led the Arizona Cardinals to their first-ever Super Bowl appearance.
ROBERT MASSEY
Robert Massey was a 4-year letterman, playing tight end from 1984-1987. Robert owns and operates a development and general construction company, headquartered in his hometown of Tifton, GA, that specializes in senior living communities. Robert’s son, Spence, also lettered in football and graduated from Georgia Tech in 2022.
PETE WELLBORN
Pete Wellborn was a walk-on, and a backup quarterback and linebacker during his four seasons (1982-1985) at Georgia Tech. He attended law school after Georgia Tech, and, in 2001, after twelve years in corporate law firms, founded his own firm that specializes in commercial litigation and technology law. Pete has also represented other GT letterwinners in cases with the NFLPA. Pete’s law firm hosts the “Curry Museum”, a collection of memorabilia from Coach Curry’s playing and coaching career. (All members of the Curry Huddle are invited to visit.)
SHELDON FOX
Sheldon Fox was an Academic All-America linebacker and College Football Hall of Fame and National Football Foundation Scholar-Athlete while earning his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering in 1982. After Tech, he spent 35 years with Harris Corporation and currently serves on the Georgia Tech Foundation and A-T Fund Boards of Trustees.
TONY KEPANO
Tony Kepano came to Georgia Tech in 1981 from Garfield HS in Woodbridge, VA. He started the 3rd game of the season his freshman year and never lost his spot. Tony was 1st team All-ACC and co-captain his senior year. He is a vice chairman with CBRE, the world’s largest commercial real estate services firm, where he’s been recognized as one of the top Industrial brokers nationally by numerous publications. Tony is a Golden Jacket, the highest level of donor recognition to athletics, and a member of the prestigious Hill Society of Georgia Tech, celebrating the most significant philanthropists to Georgia Tech. Tony has three daughters and lives with his wife Nancy in Cobb County, GA.
