The Curry Huddle

WHAT IS IT?

From 1980 through 1986, under the leadership of Coach Bill Curry, Georgia Tech football players, coaches, trainers, managers, administrators, cheerleaders, support staff, and others – all members of Coach Curry’s “Huddle” – forged timeless relationships as they worked toward common goals.

The Curry Huddle was founded in 2023 as a means of reuniting these wonderful men and women online and in person by providing increased opportunities to catch up, keep up, reconnect, network, socialize, and otherwise enjoy the unique bonds that we forged four decades ago. The Curry Huddle also serves as a tangible means of celebrating the lessons we learned from Coach Curry and honoring the immense role he has played in shaping the men and women we have become.

SUPPORTING COACH KEY AND THE JACKETS: THE HOUSING INITIATIVE

The approaching 2023 season heralds a new and exciting era in Georgia Tech football. The hiring of Coach Brent Key – the singular best candidate in the country to lead our team – gives reason for more anticipation and excitement on the Flats than we have seen in years.

Although fundraising is not part of The Curry Huddle’s mission statement, we answered Coach Key’s call to action in relation to an issue that he considers vital to the team’s success: first-class housing for the football team.

The Curry Huddle raised enough funds to achieve Coach Key’s goal!!

Residence by all players in a common location adjacent to the campus will promote team chemistry and camaraderie; will provide a supervised and focused setting that maximizes each player’s chance of success as both a student and an athlete; and will present the best possible image of Georgia Tech and its football program to future recruits and their parents.

All contributions may be specifically designated as given in honor of Coach Curry. Donations from members of The Curry Huddle should be made through THE TECH WAY, the entity chosen by Georgia Tech to administer its NIL program and related fundraising.
